We place a high value on speech and language throughout all areas of our curriculum. The promotion of communication and language is a priorty within our early years environment, promoting the use of communication and listening skills throughout the range of activities on offer. 

When children start the school in either nursery or reception, they take part in a WellComm screening. This is a short task that children carry out on a one to one basis with their class teacher, enabling the teacher to provide early intervention if there are gaps within language skills. We use the WellComm 'Big book of ideas' to provide speech and language interventions where needed, along with support from speech and language therapists.
